11 May 2026 - Draft Annual Business Plan, Budget and Long-Term Financial Plan

Community feedback is being sought on the City of West Torrens’ Draft Annual Business Plan, Budget and Long-Term Financial Plan 2026-27, which details proposed programs, services and outcomes for the coming year. 

Feedback will be open from Monday 11 May until close of business, Tuesday 9 June 2026.

Residents and ratepayers of the West Torrens community can also attend a public meeting on Tuesday 2 June 2026 between 6pm and 7pm, to ask questions or make comment on the Draft Annual Business Plan, Budget and Long-Term Financial Plan 2026-27.

The meeting will be held in the Civic Centre, 165 Sir Donald Bradman Drive, Hilton. Register your attendance at register@wtcc.sa.gov.au or phone 8416 6333 during office hours.

30 April 2026 - Impounded vehicle and unclaimed goods

Notice is hereby given pursuant to Section 237 of the Local Government Act, 1999, that the following vehicle has been impounded by the City of West Torrens.

  • Grey Mazda sedan – (SA) S974ANS from Formby Street, Hilton on 10 March 2026.

Council has been unable to locate the registered owner of the vehicle. If it is not claimed by the registered owner and all expenses related to the impoundment are not paid within one month of the date of this notice, the vehicle will be sold or otherwise disposed of by council.

Unclaimed goods

Notice is hereby given pursuant to the Unclaimed Goods Regulations 2013 (Under the Unclaimed Goods Act 1987, S5) that council is also in possession of a range of personal goods from the above vehicle. Some of these items are listed below.

The owner of the goods is requested to collect them within 42 days of the date of this notice 165 Sir Donald Bradman Drive, Hilton between 9am-4pm Monday-Friday.

If the goods are not collected by the due date, the Bailee may, after 3 months, proceed to sell or dispose of the goods in accordance with the Unclaimed Goods Act 1987.

9 April 2026 - road closure, Thebarton

St Nicholas Church, Thebarton will be holding an Easter procession on Greek Orthodox Good Friday, 10 April 2026. As a result, some local roads will be closed to through traffic.

Roads affected will include Maria, Albert, George and Dew Streets. They will be closed from 8.45pm - 10.15pm.

25 March 2026 - road closures Mile End - April 2026

Friday 10 April 2026

Several roads in Mile End will be closed between 7.30pm and 10pm on Friday 10 April 2026 for the St George Greek Orthodox Easter Procession.

The following roads will be affected:

  • Main South Road, between George Street and Rose Street (left lane southbound carriageway only).
  • Rose Street, between Main South Road and Dew Street.
  • Kintore Lane, between Main South Road and Dew Street.
  • Kintore Street, between Main South Road and Dew Street.
  • Dew Street, between a point 25 metres south of Rose Street to Kintore Street.

In addition to the road closure, traffic control devices and speed restrictions will be in place on Main South Road, between George Street and a point 50 metres north of Henley Beach Road (southbound carriageway only).

Friday 24 April - Sunday 26 April 2026

Rose Street, Mile End, between the eastern side of house number 61 and the western side of house number 57, will be closed for the 2026 Greek Orthodox Thebarton Hellenic Festival.

The road will be closed to traffic between midday on Friday 24 April and 8.30am Sunday 26 April 2026.

24 February 2026 - Notice of application of Local Government by-law

At its meeting held on 17 February 2026, pursuant to the power contained in Section 246(3)(e) of the Local Government Act 1999 council resolved the specific locations to which certain provisions of its By-law 2: Local Government Land apply and the specific locations to which certain provisions of its By-law 5: Dogs apply.

In accordance with Section 202 of the Local Government Act 1999, the City of West Torrens invites public feedback on a proposal to grant a lease over community land for the purpose of housing a community battery.

12 February 2026 - Naming of public roads

Notice is hereby given that at its meeting on 20 January 2026, the City of West Torrens approved the naming of 'Winwood Street', 'Cawthorne Street' and 'Walsh Street' within the Southwark Grounds Development, effective from 20 January 2026, pursuant to Section 219(1) of the Local Government Act 1999.

5 February 2026 - Application for rate rebates

Ratepayers of the City of West Torrens who believe they are eligible for a rate rebate for the financial year 2026-27 must make written application to the council by 31 March 2026.

Recipients of a rebate in 2025-26 do not need to reapply; however, the council may request additional information to confirm ongoing eligibility. Applicants need to identify the grounds for the application, under relevant sections of the Local Government Act 1999, and meet the requirements of council's 'Rate Rebates and Remissions Policy'.

All relevant information must accompany an application, and a declaration about the contents needs to be completed.

31 January 2026 - Changed traffic conditions

Council's Summer Festival event 'Touch a truck' will be held at Apex Park, West Beach on Saturday 31 January 2026.

During the event there will be increased traffic in the area. For this reason, the below traffic conditions will be put in place between approximately 6am - 2.30pm.

  • Speed reduced to 25km/hr on Burbridge Road between Tapleys Hill Road and Davis Street.
  • Single lane closure for west bound traffic on Burbridge Road, between a point 110 metres east of Davis Street and a point 225 metres west of Tapleys Hill Road. This is to accommodate the temporary, public parking which will be available on the land adjacent to Apex Park. This car park will be open for the duration of the event and have parking attendants present.

Summer Festival 31 January - Touch-a-truck

Council's Summer Festival event 'All Together Now' will be held at Weigall Oval, North Plympton on Saturday 24 January 2026.

During the event there will be increased traffic in the area. For this reason, the below traffic conditions will be put in place between approximately 2pm and 11.30pm.

  • No standing on eastern side of Birdwood Terrace, between Murdoch Avenue and Laverack Road.
  • 25km/hr speed limit on roads adjacent to the event site (Birdwood Terrace, Oval Terrace and Urrbrae Terrace).
  • Attended parking located on the grassed area between McArthur Avenue and Birdwood Terrace.

Summer Festival 24 January - All Together Now

17 January 2026 - Changed traffic conditions

Council's Summer Festival event 'Splash' will be held at Mellor Park, Lockleys on Saturday 17 January 2026.

During the event there will be increased traffic in the area. For this reason, the below traffic conditions will be put in place between approximately 6.30am - 3.30pm.

'No standing' on the western side of White Avenue from the corner of Henley Beach Road to Anthus Street.

Speed reduced to 25km/h on:

  • Henley Beach Road, Lockleys (eastbound only) between James Place and White Avenue
  • Myzantha Street, Lockleys between White Avenue and Malurus Avenue
  • White Avenue, Lockleys between Anthus Street and Henley Beach Road.
