The Mock Crash is just one event the Group provides to the local community to educate people about the importance of road safety.

Road Safety Group members wanted

Are you passionate about road safety and keeping others as well as yourself safe?

The West Torrens Road Safety Group is looking for new members to join and help educate the local community about road safety.

Established in 2004, the group works in conjunction with SA Police, local residents, Department for Infrastructure and Transport (DIT) and Council to promote road safety awareness and respond to concerns of the local community.

During the years members have been instrumental in establishing various long-running projects that have helped educate residents. Of major note is the biennial 'Mock Crash' which provides a first-hand experience to 500 local high-school students about what can happen in a fatal vehicle accident.

The group has also been involved with local schools in helping to educate students about safety when walking/cycling to school and was instrumental in rolling out the '50km/h speed message stickers' on wheelie bins in West Torrens' suburbs.

The Road Safety Group meets once a month and local residents interested in becoming a member are welcome to join.
