Parking permits

Residential parking permit information:

• For residents to park on the street contrary to time limited zones (only for 1P or greater).
• Does not provide an exemption from any other parking restrictions e.g. No Stopping, No Parking or parking on a yellow line etc.
• Available for two years.
• One parking permit per property unless Council assessment shows inadequate off-street parking to park residential vehicles, in which case one additional permit may be issued

Business parking permit information:

• For businesses to park on the street contrary to time limited zones (only for 1P or greater)
• Does not provide an exemption from any other parking restrictions e.g. No Stopping, No Parking or parking on a yellow line etc.
• One permit per business
• Available for one or two years
• Permits are transferrable (not vehicle specific)
• Permits are zone specific.

Temporary parking permit information:

• For residents who need parking for contractors and visiting family members where off street parking is not available (only for 1P or greater)
• Does not provide an exemption from any other parking restrictions e.g. No Stopping, No Parking or parking on a yellow line etc.
• Maximum limit to two permits per residence at any one time
• Issued on a weekly or monthly basis.

Allow approximately 14 days for your application to be processed.

Applications received with less than 14 days notice may not be processed by the desired start date.

Community parking permit information:

• For businesses and individuals providing in home care to residents located in time limited areas (only for 1P or greater)
• Does not provide an exemption from any other parking restrictions e.g. No Stopping, No Parking or parking on a yellow line etc.
• Valid for one year only
• No fees apply.

Visitor parking permits are issued to City of West Torrens residents for use by their visitors.

Permits are provided in books of 12. Each household can purchase up to 36 permits (3 books), per calendar year. 

Residents can apply for one book per application. Please use any existing permits before submitting another application.

• Available to meet short-term parking needs for tradespeople/visitors
• Does not provide an exemption from any other parking restrictions e.g. No Stopping, No Parking or parking on a yellow line etc.
• Council must be advised one full day prior to exemption being required. All vehicle details including the registration number plate must be provided when contacting council
• For short-term use only
• For last minute use only
• No fees apply.
