Are you a patient, flexible, and friendly person who is happy to create a comfortable space for conversation and creation using donated and purchased materials in a variety of personal or suggested projects! 

Would you enjoy providing a welcoming learning environment where participants can share sewing skills in a relaxed social setting?

Our Sewing Studio program is a self -help group for people with sewing skills and knowledge, members produce garments for charities from donated materials or can work on their own projects on occasions (must provide own material).

To apply for this role you will need:

  • effective communication skills
  • attention to detail
  • ability to read simple patterns
  • understanding of sewing machines
  • ability to identify and report hazards relevant to the sewing studio environment

You will also need to either have, or complete:

  • National Police Clearance
  • Working with Children check
  • Provide First Aid certificate
  • Manual Handling certificate
  • Sewing Machine and Overlocker safe operation training

All certificates and training can be provided by the City of West Torrens at no cost to the volunteer.
