If you are planning an event in a City of West Torrens' park, reserve, oval, road or other public outdoor space you may need approval from Council.

If you are planning an indoor event at one of Councils venues visit our community centres and other venues page.

Who requires an Event Permit?

If your event has one or more of the below conditions, you will need an Event Permit:

  • 50 or more people will attend.
  • You plan to set up equipment such as a marquee, stage or similar infrastructure.
  • You plan to use a public address (PA) system.
  • Food or drink will be supplied by an external caterer or food vendor.
  • You plan to book entertainers, amusement rides, activities or animals.
  • You will charge people to attend or take part.
  • You need a temporary road closure or temporary parking controls.

If none of these apply, you do not need an event permit to use Council’s public outdoor spaces, and a booking is not required.
