Batteries for Council-owned facility
Community groups using a Council-owned facility can apply for up to $5,000 towards the cost of installing a battery.
Battery storage can help optimise Council’s renewable electricity arrangements. A battery can be charged during the day, when electricity prices are generally lower, and used later in the evening when the community group is using the facility.
Solar and battery systems for non-Council-owned facility
Community groups using a facility that is not owned by Council can apply for up to $5,000 towards the cost of:
- a solar photovoltaic system
- a battery storage system
- a combined solar and battery system.
Installing renewable energy and battery storage can help facilities reduce electricity costs, increase the use of clean energy and lower greenhouse gas emissions.
