Kanopy on-demand streaming service

The popular on-demand film streaming service Kanopy is now available showcasing more than 30,000 of the world’s best films, including award-winning documentaries, rare and hard-to-find titles, film festival favorites, indie and classic films and world cinema collections. Films can be streamed from any computer, television, mobile device or platform by downloading the Kanopy app for iOS, Android, AppleTV or Chromecast. West Torrens members can access Kanopy for free by visiting westtorrens.kanopy.com.

Note: Each member has a limit of 10 play credits per month and three days to watch each film as many times as you like (without using another play credit). Play credits reset on the first day of the month.

The Kanopy collection includes indie hits like Hunt For the Wilderpeople and  A Quiet Passion, classic masterpieces like Charade and L'Avventura, and award-winning documentaries like the 2017 Oscar®-nominated I Am Not Your Negro and Sundance Film Festival winner 52 Tuesdays. In addition, a number of films which are set in, and are about Australia, can be found on Kanopy like the Sydney Film Festival winner Zach's Ceremony, the thought-provoking documentaries Murundak: Songs of Freedom and Why Me - Stolen Generations, and acclaimed films like The Dressmaker and the Palme d’Or -nominated drama, Wake In Fright.
