Computers, internet and Wi-Fi
Personal computers and laptops
We have a range of personal computers and laptops available for public use in the Hamra Centre Library.
Most computers offer a 60 minute session (if unavailable then you may be offered a shorter session), with Express PCs allowing 30 minutes. Only one session per day may be booked at a time. You may book up to eight days in advance.
How to book
Bookings can be made:
You can also walk up and use any available PC by logging in with your Library barcode number and PIN.
Please note: if you are 15 minutes late for your booking, your session will be automatically cancelled.
Extending a booking
Both the PCs and laptops will allow extensions if no-one else requires them and you can have up to three hours computer usage per day. You must be over 18 to book/use a laptop.
Children under 18
Children under the age of 18 are required to have authorisation from their parent/legal guardian before access is granted to use our computers. As the computers are for general public use, parents and guardians should be mindful of information being accessed by children, including online gaming.
Our computers and laptops have internet access, are operating Windows 10 and include software programs such as:
- Microsoft Word
- Microsoft Excel
- Microsoft PowerPoint
- Microsoft Publisher
- Acrobat Reader
- VLC Media Player
- Google Chrome
Please note that unauthorised programs are unable to be run or installed.
Access Wi-Fi at the Library
You can access Wi-Fi in the Library at any time. To log in you’ll need your own wireless enabled laptop or device (tablet or phone). There is a 5GB download limit per day. You do not need to be a Library member to access the Wi-Fi.
