Justices of the Peace
A Justice of the Peace (JP) service is provided at the Hamra Centre Library for witnessing statutory and legal documentation.
A JP is in the Library from Monday to Friday between 10am and 4pm, but please be aware that this service is provided by volunteer JPs, and is subject to their availability.
Please check below to confirm that a JP is on duty.
This is a walk-in service, no appointment is necessary, but in order to be fair to all and not cause delays, the JP may only certify up to 15 copies of any document(s) at one time if other customers are waiting. If you require a large number of documents to be certified, you may need to re-queue while the JP attends to others.
If customers arrive close to 4pm and others are waiting, we cannot guarantee that the JP will be available to assist you after 4pm.
Please note: photo ID is required for all Affidavits and Declarations; when requesting a certified copy, the original document must be presented with the copy.
Alternative JP Services
Please view our Alternative Justice of the Peace services flyer if you are looking for a JP at an alternative time/location. For a JP who speaks a language other than English please search the online roll of JPs.
