Tax Help Program

Do you earn $70,000 or less and would you like free assistance with submitting your taxes online?

From July to October each year, the Australian Tax Office's (ATO) accredited volunteers help people lodge their tax returns online. Each year they assign a volunteer to the City of West Torrens whom you can visit for assistance to:

  • create a myGov account
  • lodge an amendment to your tax return
  • claim a refund of franking credits
  • tell the ATO if you don't need to lodge a tax return.

A Tax Help volunteer visits the West Torrens Library on Thursday afternoons fortnightly and appointments can be made in 3 timeslots: 4:30pm, 5:30pm or 6:30pm. They provide their services in the Justice of the Peace office within the library.
