Book clubs

Book clubs are a great way to meet other book lovers and make new friends. The variety of titles available are a great way to be introduced to different genres and styles.

General book clubs

The Hamra Centre Library is home to a number of book clubs that meet on a monthly basis:

  • Tuesday book club: 3.30pm - 5pm
  • Wednesday book club:  10.30am - 12.30pm
  • Thursday book club:  6pm - 8pm 
  • Friday book club:  3pm - 5pm.

Membership is free, but groups are limited to 10 members. Contact the Library to check availability/be added to the waiting lists.

Non Fiction book club

  • for anyone who enjoys non-fiction books, articles, and essays
  • topics include society, democracy, human nature, history, and environment (2024 starts with 'Humankind: A Hopeful History'; books available to borrow)
  • facilitated discussion and expression of ideas
  • reading materials provided or available to borrow
  • a great way to meet other people
  • bookings not required
  • join anytime.
When: Every second Thursday (during school terms)
Time: 6pm - 8pm
Where: Hamra Centre Library, 1 Brooker Terrace, Hilton
