There will be some movement happening at Breakout Creek/Purruna Pari in the near future with the long-awaited return of horses to the area.
For several years, Lockleys Riding Club has agisted its horses at various locations while upgrade works to the area have been occurring. Now that these have been completed, the club will begin relocating its horses to a purpose-built facility that has been created as part of the Breakout Creek/Purruna Pari redevelopment.
The club is expected to return the majority of horses to the area in mid-late July. Some temporary signs have already been placed at the new agistment area at Breakout Creek to inform our community about their impending return.
While the horses are being reintroduced, anyone visiting the area is asked to exercise caution by staying on the outside of the fence, keeping dogs under control and out of the agistment area and ensuring that children are always supervised.
If you wish to approach the horses, be mindful that they can bite and move quickly, so be gentle and approach with care.
