A mobile CCTV is currently at Apex Park, near the Pump Track, due to some community concerns about the use of the track and behaviour of users.

The CCTV is expected to be in operation until the end of daylight saving.

Council will deploy mobile CCTVs from time to time to assist with public safety. We understand there are competing needs between security and safety and the right to privacy, and we wish to assure you that the use of mobile CCTVs is purely for public safety reasons.

Recordings

Any data recorded will only be reviewed if it is in relation to the request. All footage is securely stored for 30 days, with multiple layers of protection to prevent unauthorised access. Only authorised council officers can access information as the system is highly restricted.

Data is only reviewed if a witness can provide a specific date and time in order for the authorised officer to revise the material. If any recorded data is useful, it may be provided to the South Australian Police for law enforcement/investigation purposes.

Any recordings or images downloaded from the camera for disclosure to a third party (such as SAPOL) will be retained by the council for a minimum of 7 years. Any recordings that have not been downloaded and are subject to the 30 days retention will be deleted.
