The 75th anniversary of the National Service in Australia will be commemorated this Saturday, 14 February 2026. This day marks the anniversary of the commencement of the 1951 National Service Scheme and the 1965 - 1972 National Service Scheme, which saw around 280,000 young men called up for service.
Locally, there will be a commemoration event in the West Torrens Memorial Gardens which is open to the local community.
