Book talk: Heavy is the crown

Susan Knapp, acclaimed author and longtime friend of the library, will be joining us once again, this time she'll be introducing her friend from Kenya, Willis Austin Chimano, known simply as Chimano, an artist and former member of Africa's largest band Sauti Sol.

Hailing from Nairobi, Chimano's first solo EP 'Heavy is the Crown' highlights his vocal prowess and ability to blend different music styles. This has led him to be a role model for many as he has received acclaim from fans and critics alike. His influence extends beyond music, as he has now shared his personal journey in print 'Heavy is the crown: part memoir, part manifesto, all heart'. Join us for a book talk at the West Torrens Library before he embarks on his 2026 author tour.
