Community gardens

Community gardens are a new way to grow food and create a stronger sense of community in our area.

The gardens are open spaces where people from the community work together to grow fruit and vegetables to share with everyone in the group.

Benefits to the community

Our community gardens offer a number of benefits to local residents including:

  • access to fresh, nutritious food
  • sense of achievement from growing some of your own food
  • making friends
  • learning  gardening skills
  • being part of a group
  • learning about shared decision making
  • getting outdoor exercise
  • improving our local environment.
