Personal trainers on City of West Torrens parks and reserves request

For the duration of the public health emergency, the City of West Torrens is committed to helping personal trainers conduct exercise on Council land that is consistent with current public health advice relating to the COVID-19 pandemic. Please note:  the City of West Torrens does not ordinarily permit Persons Conducting a Business Undertaking (PCBU) to use local government open space for personal training activities. When the Public Health Emergency is declared over + 28 days, this permit will no longer be valid and extensions will not be granted.

These conditions apply to personal training on West Torrens public parks and reserves:

  • A permit must be issued by the City of West Torrens prior to a PCBU (Person Conducting a Business Undertaking) conducting any business on Council-owned land.
  • A current COVID Safe plan for the activity must be provided to the City of West Torrens. Clients must sign in using the QR code. A paper record must be available on site for customers that cannot, or do not wish to sign in using the QR code.
  • A current $20M public liability insurance policy must be in place for the PCBU and a copy must be received by the City of West Torrens before the PCBU conducts business on Council-owned land.
  • The Permit Holder agrees to indemnify the Council from any costs, claims, actions or loss arising from any damages, accident or injury occurring on the activity site except where such accident, damage or injury results from any wilful or negligent act or omission of the Council.
  • The PCBU must advise the City of West Torrens on prospective location, dates and times.
  • Environmental Health Officers will be notified in case inspections are requested or required.
  • Current physical distancing and density rules must be followed.
  • The PCBU must make hand hygiene products available.
  • Suitable rubbish bins must be provided by the PCBU and all waste must be removed from site at the conclusion of the activity.
  • The PCBU must conduct frequent cleaning and waste disposal.
  • No amplification is to be used.
  • The permit will remain valid until the Public Health Emergency is revoked + 28 days, or unless advised otherwise
  • The permit may be revoked by City of West Torrens at any time following updated advice from SA Health.
  • No permit fee will be applicable for the time the permit is valid.
