Power up your poetry - poetic devices and their purpose

To break the ice, the workshop will start with sharing writing experiences and the chance to talk about being vulnerable as a writer.

The workshop will then continue with two extended metaphor poems on the creative process, and the chance to brainstorm other metaphors and draft an extended metaphor poem. Other major poetic techniques such as symbolism, imagery, repetition, wordplay and sound devices will then be explored which can power up poetry to the next level.
