Mortimer Street upgrade

Status: OPEN

During recent years Council has been upgrading and rejuvenating parts of Mortimer Street. We are now looking to upgrade the section of Mortimer Street from Daly Street to Gray Street.

The aim of the works is to improve the amenity, aesthetics and vitality of the public space adjacent to the shops through the selective widening of the footpath, improving the pedestrian environment and usability of this space.

Consultation closes at 5pm, Friday 18 May 2018.

2018/19 Budget and Annual Business Plan

Status: OPEN

Council is keen to receive the views and comments of ratepayers and interested parties before making final decisions on budget and rating arrangements for 2018/19.

An analysis will be undertaken of the results of this consultation process and amendments to budget and rating arrangements may be proposed to Council for consideration.

Consultation closes at 5pm, Friday 8 June 2018.

Apex Park, Weigall Oval and Camden Park news

Status: Closed

In order to help meet the growing needs of our community and provide better and more user-friendly spaces, the City of West Torrens is upgrading Apex Park and Weigall Oval.

Underdale and Torrensville Urban Renewal Development Plan Amendment

Status: Feedback currently being considered by the Minister for Planning.

Council proposes to implement a long term vision to transition from the existing industrial land uses to primarily residential development and other development compatible with housing.

Council released the Urban Renewal Development Plan Amendment (DPA) for community feedback between 27 June 2017 and 23 August 2017. On 3 October 2017, Council’s Strategy and Community Committee considered the submissions received, endorsed changes to the proposed rezoning and decided to submit the formal Development Plan Amendment to the Minister for Planning for a final decision on rezoning the land.

Status: Feedback currently being compiled for consideration.

The City of West Torrens has developed a Draft Master Plan for the Kings Reserve precinct. The three stage plan aims to provide a sustainable, high-value, high-quality public reserve, which is more accessible and user-friendly for local residents and sporting clubs.
