Australian Rotary Clubs are part of an international network of business, professional and community leaders who strive to make the world a better place through practical efforts. Through Rotary International, the reward of "paying it forward" unites men and women from different backgrounds, cultures, religious and political beliefs the world over, allowing ordinary people to do extraordinary things.

The Rotary Club of West Torrens was chartered in April of 1979 and has been actively engaged in making a difference at a local, national and international level ever since.

At a local level, the Club has:

  • Provided ongoing support to Errington Special School (previously Ashford Special $chool) over the last 30+ years.
  • Supported numerous young residents in attending the National Youth Science Forum in Canberra and the Science Forums held locally.
  • Encouraged and provided financial assistance to enable young residents to attend leadership programs.
  • Worked closely with Nazareth School in practically and financially supporting their outreach program in East Timor.
  • Participated in Council activities by providing barbecues.
  • Participated in Volunteer Expos.
  • Developed and maintained the award winning environmental program 'Our Patch' near Adelaide Airport.
