Citizens who have made a noteworthy contribution during the previous year and/or given outstanding service to the local community over a number of years.

First elected to the City of West Torrens as Lockleys Ward Councillor in 2003, Kym has set about making a difference and positive impact to his local community. His motivation to clean up open space along the River Torrens Linear Park has seen him become an advocate for better environmental education, particularly in the area of waste management and recycling. His passion for electrical recycling has even motivated him to collect three tonnes of e-waste alone from his local community.

Kym has been involved in various areas of community life that focus on education and sport. He has given his time to the Kidman Park Child Care Committee, Fulham Park Pre-Kindy, the Board of St Francis School and also contributed to St Michael’s College. He’s been a Director of Junior Football at Flinders Park Football Club and an active fundraiser for the Cancer Council of South Australia through the Relay for Life project.
