As of July 2020, all local government development plans will be replaced with a metropolitan, state-wide Planning and Design Code. This Code, being developed by the State Planning Commission, will inform the type of development that can be built in your suburb, how many storeys, set back, car park spaces and green space.
The draft Code is currently out for consultation and our local community is urged to find out what this may mean for them in the future.
City of West Torrens' staff have drafted a number of fact sheets to help you understand some of these changes, including zoning, applicable to your property. The new zones proposed under the Planning and Design Code do not always include entire suburbs. If you are unsure about the current zoning of your property, you can search your property data at westtorrens.sa.gov.au/westmaps or maps.sa.gov.au/SAPPA
Please note: these fact sheets are not conclusive as not all information is yet contained in the draft Design Code. If you have any questions at all about what this means for your property, please contact DPTI
