Currently in South Australia there are a number of fruit fly outbreaks, some in the western suburbs of Adelaide.
Some areas of West Torrens are in 'suspension areas', meaning that precautions need to be taken. Suspension areas are within a 7.5 kilometre radius around a detection site.
To check if your suburb is in a suspension area, visit the Primary Industries and Regions SA (PIRSA) website (link below).
It is important to remember that if you have home grown fruit or vegetables that you can only enjoy them fresh at home and that they should not be given away, unless cooked or preserved.
If you live in a fruit fly infected suburb and are travelling to West Torrens for work or recreation, do not bring home-grown fresh fruit or vegetables into the area.
Visit the PIRSA website for information.
