Joining our Library service is easy and free and there is no age limit.
We are part of the One Card Network of libraries
The West Torrens Library Service is part of the One Card Network which connects more than 130 libraries across South Australia. If you are already a member of a One Card library, you can use that card to borrow items from us. You can also return our items to any other One Card library and other One Card library items can be returned to us.
If you are a member of another library and recently moved into the City of West Torrens, we encourage you to let our friendly library team know so we can update your account details on our state-wide database.
Children and youth under 18 years of age need to be registered by a parent or legal guardian over 18 years of age.
If you are an overseas student and/or live independently under the age of 18, are under state care, have limited address details or have no fixed abode, please call us on 8416 6228 to talk to staff about membership possibilities.
Register in person
You can register for membership at the Hamra Centre Library or on the Mobile Library. To join the Library you will need to show us identification (ID) that shows your name, current address and date of birth.
You can register for membership through our online catalogue, or through the Libraries SA app. This will give you immediate access to our digital collections and eResources. If you want to borrow physical items, we require you to show us identification (ID) that shows your name, current address and date of birth. You can place holds on up to 5 items before we see your ID. To complete your registration, visit the Hamra Centre Library or the Mobile Library, and remember to bring your ID.
