Tech Savvy one-to-one help

tech Savvy

West Torrens Library Service offers free one-to-one IT help for computer and mobile technology users. Participants can make a half hour appointment with one of our volunteers or staff members and receive assistance on most IT related topics. One-to-one help sessions are scheduled on:

 

 Mondays    2.00pm -   4.00pm
 Thursdays  10.00am - 12.00pm
 Fridays    1.00pm -   4.00pm
 Saturdays  10.00am -   1.00pm

 

Friday and Saturday sessions run during school terms only.

Sessions are held in the library's Learning Centre on Windows based computers. Alternatively, participants can bring their personal laptop or mobile device.

Participants must be members of a South Australian Public Library and bookings are essential for all classes. This service is free.

Tech Savvy classes

 

The West Torrens Library Service offers a series of free IT classes with practical, hands on training for beginners and intermediate users. Classes are scheduled on Fridays and Saturdays and are taught using both Windows computers and mobile devices in the library's Learning Centre.

Participants must be members of a South Australian Public Library and bookings are essential for all classes. Classes are free.

Computer Basics

This class is designed for beginners. It familiarises participants with basic computer hardware and software and provides them with basic keyboard and mouse skills.  

iPads for Beginners

This class is designed to familiarise new users with basic iPad functions and demonstrates the process for downloading apps. To benefit from hands on training, participants are advised to bring their personal iPad, and their Apple ID and password. This class is in high demand and bookings are essential.  

Apps for iPads

This class is designed for participants already familiar with basic iPad functions. It demonstrates the process for accessing the App store, and selecting and downloading apps. To benefit from hands on training participants are advised to bring their personal iPad, and their Apple ID and password.
