Tech Savvy one-to-one help

tech Savvy

West Torrens Library Service offers free one-to-one IT help for computer and mobile technology users. Participants can make a half hour appointment with one of our volunteers or staff members and receive assistance on most IT related topics. One-to-one help sessions are scheduled on:


 Mondays    2.00pm -   4.00pm
 Thursdays  10.00am - 12.00pm
 Fridays    1.00pm -   4.00pm
 Saturdays  10.00am -   1.00pm


Friday and Saturday sessions run during school terms only.

Sessions are held in the library's Learning Centre on Windows based computers. Alternatively, participants can bring their personal laptop or mobile device.

Participants must be members of a South Australian Public Library and bookings are essential for all classes. This service is free.

The West Torrens Library Service offers a series of free IT classes with practical, hands on training for beginners and intermediate users. Classes are scheduled on Fridays and Saturdays and are taught using both Windows computers and mobile devices in the library's Learning Centre.

Get to know your computer including basic computer hardware and software. Learn keyboard and mouse skills to help you navigate your computer with confidence.

Getting to know your iPad

Get the most out of your iPad by discovering what it can do and how to do it! Familiarise yourself with its many functions including tips and tricks to help you navigate your iPad with ease. This class is in high demand and bookings are essential.

Apps for iPads

Broaden your horizons by discovering the range of apps available for iPads. Learn to search for and select apps and then download and use them. To benefit from hands on training participants are advised to bring their personal iPad, and their Apple ID and password.

Learning Windows 10

Get to know Microsoft's newest operating system, Windows 10, and navigate your PC with ease! This class will familiarise you with Microsoft edge, the Microsoft store, and Cortana.

Discovering eBooks and the Library Catalogue

Discover how to access the library's collection of eBooks via the Libby, Overdrive and ePlatform apps. Learn to effectively search the library catalogue for digital and hardcopy items, place holds and manage your library account.
