Save water and money

The Residential Rainwater Rebate Scheme seeks to assist the community to implement a range of water saving initiatives around the home that will help to reduce mains water consumption. 

Residents can receive rebates for initiatives such as installing a rainwater tank or planter box raingarden.

These incentives are a great way to achieve positive environmental outcomes and also save you money. 

 

What rebates are available?

Rebate 1: rainwater tank rebate

Rainwater tanks can be either plumbed into the home or standalone.

2,000 - 4,999 litres

$300

5,000 - 9,999 litres

$400

10,000 + litres

$500

Rebate 2: $200 plumbed in rainwater tank for new developments or extensions.

For new developments or extensions, an additional $200 rebate is available for applicants that install a new rainwater tank that is has a capacity of 2,000 litres or more and have it plumbed into two or more inlets of their home.

Rebate 3: planter box rain garden

Rebates for planter box rain gardens of up to $500 are available. The rebate covers items required to construct the planter box rain garden including piping, soil, gravel and native plants.

How do I apply?

Funding for this initiative is limited and processed on a first come first serve basis until all funding is exhausted.  For full terms, conditions and eligibility criteria refer to the 2015/16 Rainwater Rebate Scheme Guidelines for residential properties.
