Any brand of TV, computer or computer equipment will be recycled under the Scheme, no matter how old it is.

What happens to them?

Material will be sent to an approved recycler (Aspitech, Underdale) under the National TV and Computer Recycling Scheme.

Around 90% of what's used to make televisions and computers can be recycled.

All items are dismantled to recover components such as glass, plastics, iron, steel, tin, nickel, aluminium and copper, and precious metals such as gold, platinum and silver.

Hazardous materials, such as lead, cadmium, phosphorous and mercury, can be captured safely.

The recyclable components are sent for reprocessing into new products, reducing our need to mine for new materials and the potential for hazardous substances to be released into the environment.
